have a huge access to technology as well as big scale of exhibition.
They try to
empower UBUD as a Tourist destination (Tourist Village) becomes media
to
Cater the “Art
Knowledge Exchange”.
Ubud is visited by
both Tourist who want to explore the exotic of Ubud as well as Artist who
Want to explore
further about the culture and way of life of the local people.
These Idealist local artists try to make the art
itself respected with the most highly value and sustainable.
I visited “
Luden House” located at Jl. Sriwedari, Junjungan village Ubud and it is
very closed to Best Western Premier Agung Resort Ubud, it is about 2.4 Km
and only 5 minutes’ Drive in Bali.
The founder is I
Gde Suanda (genuinely Ubud People), his nick name is Sayur.
He builds this art
space on 2010 and wish can inspire others especially with things that related
To art and
humanity.
This art space is
open for any single people who want to share and discuss about any kind
Of art and
humanity or just pop in to enjoy the ambiance of this art space which is
surrounded by rice field and Coconut tree.
Sometime He invite
Children to create art things in his Art Space; the idea is to introduce modern
Art to Children
from the beginning.
Luden is latin
word for Happy or To Be Happy……
The founder is
expecting any single people who visit this place will have different perspective
of life
And has a high
appreciation about art and life itself.
Mostly they apply
an “Art Installation” where this art is adjustable depends on ambiance
and atmosphere around.
“Art Installation” is not only
painting based, it could be Art Music, Art Photography and other art
contemporary.
Luden House open
24 hours because some young guys stay there, but it is recommended to
Visit them in normal hours about 9.00am up to
9.00pm
The other Art
Space that available in Ubud is Cata Odata.
This art space is
located about 8.6 km from Best Western Premier Agung Resort Ubud
or 15 – 20
minutes’ Driver in Bali.
The founder of
this art space is Ratna Odata and the exact address is at Jl. Penestanan
Kelod Ubud-Bali.
To visit this
place, we have to make an appointment since the owner is not always at home.
The founder is
using her house becomes an Art Space to maintain and expand the art especially
the
Art painting.
There is also
unique hanging library, where you can read about any kind of book that related
with art.
The unique thing
about Cata Odata is, they have “Artist in Residency” program.
This program is
ideally conducted once a year however sometime it is not run as per schedule,
because she has to fund this program by herself.
During this
program Cata O data will invite 1 Local artist, 1 foreign artist and 1
local art writer.
They will stay
together in Ratna’s house to discuss about the art they interested with.
These 2 artists
should have the same interest in art, therefore the Art Writer will easy to
synchronize the topic between two of them.
Usually during “Artist
in Residency” program, they will conduct the art exhibition and it will be
open for public And attend by some invited artist.
During event they
will display the art collaboration result between local and foreigner artist.

the artist about what kind of things that they display on the exhibition and
you

was these artists express their idea and unspoken words to the Art’s media.
