NON TOURISTIC AREA AT UBUD

Bali Travel - Recently I visit some spot that available in Ubud which is located quite close from Best Western Premier Agung Resort Ubud. It is about 5 KMs away and 10 minutes’ drive, this village is Peliatan village. This village is well located at Jalan Raya Peliatan. Little bit surprise since these areas seem to be organized for local people and I see NO Tourist Hanging around in this village.

My first destination of course Traditional Balinese Food/Appetizer place. This kind of food; you may call it snack or dessert is very popular in Bali and for Balinese. Since they have special taste some of them is sour and spicy and some of them are sweet. This place also served some quite familiar food and beverage for other than local, they are Juices. However local Balinese people also very familiar with Juices and this become favorite beverage in Hot season. This place is quite popular in Ubud since this is the only place that provided typically Traditional Balinese Food around Ubud. Young and old people love this kind of Food very much, and sometime for some Balinese people This kind of Food is become mandatory food that they have to consume once during a week.

I believe everybody agree that Ubud as one of the popular place for Tourist around the globe and Surprisingly this village still have some spots that dedicated for local people to hang out, to do chit chat with friends and colleagues with affordable price where from Student up to employee can visit and enjoy the food in this area. This place is open from 11.00 am up to 6.00pm.

About 100 meter drive away from this place, you can visit another Royal Palace, it’s “Peliatan Palace”. This palace is not popular as “Ubud Palace” where Ubud Palace is very popular to Tourist and even This Palace is visited by more than hundreds tourist every day and Balinese dance entertainment conducted regularly in Ubud palace for Tourist. The ornament and building of this palace is very traditional and gorgeous.

500 meter drive away from Peliatan Palace, you can visit Traditional Market. Again this market is not as popular as Ubud Market where Ubud market is full fill with large variety of handicraft and textile for Tourist. Peliatan Traditional Market is dedicated only for Local where Balinese local people can buy their daily need in this market, start from Food up to clothes. Opposite of the Peliatan Market there is another attractive place that might attract your eyes.

With about 500 Meter square, this place is dedicated for local people to display their food stall. This place called “Pasar Senggol” since this place is open in the afternoon about 4.00pm up to finish, usually about up to 9.00pm. You can find several typically food in this place and they are all Balinese local food and also this food is really “Balinese belly Friendly Food” Well if you want to spend your time a little bit in NON Touristic Area, this area will be The best place to visit. You will be able to see how Balinese local people from teenager up to old people get along and have a chit chat. You will be able to see how local Balinese people spend their time for fun.
