Bali Tour - UBUD is well known of it’s spiritual energy…
There is always sacred place/spot if we want to explore
thoroughly to this area; both Touristic and Non Touristic places.
One of the magnificent legacy from the ancestor of UBUD
Community is “Pura Tengahing Segara “ (In the middle of the Ocean’s Temple).
This temple is located in the middle of rice field and
fortunately it is exactly next to Best Western Premier Agung Resort Ubud
Hotel.
There is a history why the local community named this Temple
as “ In The Middle of Ocean’s Temple”
Next to the temple there is river surrounding the area;
Balinese Hindu believe that the river as a water sources for peoples wo live in
Mountain Bali area or far from the Ocean has a same function
With Ocean; especially in doing their religion ceremony
(Religion Procession).
The name of the river with it’s magnificent view is
“ANGKERAN” where this word is coming from “ANGKER” or Sacred.
The water flow of Angkeran River is coming from “Tirta Empul” Tampak Siring Temple, where this temple is very well known as one of the
thousands places for Balinese Hindu
To do a purification.
In Hindu Bali religion, there is a Temple Anniversary
(Odalan) which will be held every six (6) Months based on Balinese Hindu
Calender.
On the day of “Odalan” Balinese Hindu community will
decorate the Temple and preparing a huge “Banten” (Offering).
The Offering honor to the GOD who give life and at the same
time their make a wish to be blessed.
Before starting the ceremony “Angkeran” River will become a
place to purify all the Temple equipment as well as the “Pretima” symbol of God
of the Temple.
Now days “Pemangku/Sulinggih” the person who has been chosen
to lead the ceremony for this temple, to take care the river as well.
He will come down to the River to offer some offerings on
Balinese Hindu Holiday.
Based on Balinese Hindu Calendar, there will be at least
four (4) times holiday in a month otherwise much more often.
Angkeran River as a water sources also watering rice field
that available in some villages such as:
Taman Village, Teba Saya Village and Tegal Alang Village.
Tegal Alang is one of the most popular touristic place for
their rice terrace view.
Balinese Hindu will always or most of the time consider
nature as a Holy Place for some reasons.
Beside their believe that there is Spiritual Energy exist in
these particular places, also this is very wise legacy from Balinese Hindu
Ancestor; that we have to respect nature in order to maintain
The sustainable of nature resources and keeping the harmony
relationship between Human, Nature and GOD.
